The International Association for Genetics in Aquaculture (IAGA) was formed at the 1985 Symposium Genetics in Aquaculture II, in Davis, with the purpose to promote communication and constructive service to its members concerning all aspects of genetics of aquatic species important to aquaculture, to provide a mechanism for holding a triennial meeting known as the “International Symposium on Genetics in Aquaculture (ISGA)”, also ensuring the publication of the proceedings of each symposium.

The My research in three minutes- 3MT is an academic competition that challenges PhD students and research staff to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. 3MT celebrates the discoveries made by research students and research staff and encourages their skill in communicating the importance of research to the broader community.
We call for registrations in the following categories from the College of Science and Engineering:
- HDR - Higher Degree researchers
- ECR - Early Career researchers
- CR - Career Researchers
The winning staff and students will progress to the Division of Tropical Environments and Societies 3MT competition to be held 7 September 2017.
