The Annual Conference of the QAMT Townsville Branch will be held 19-20 May at Annandale Christian College.

The keynote presentation will be given by RMIT University's professor of mathematics education, Dianne Siemon on Friday afternoon (19th May), followed by a conference dinner that evening. Workshops will run from 9AM-3PM on Saturday (20th May).

This year's conference theme is 'Transitions in Mathematics', aligning with the 2017 PD series 'Transitioning students from additive to multiplicative thinking'. However, it can also be extended to include transitions to use more technology, use of inquiry-based pedagogy, statistical thinking and unpacking the new senior syllabi.

Call for workshop presenters

Expressions of interest are sought from workshop presenters.

Proposals should be made using the presentation form (DOCX, 155 KB) and returned to Leah.Daniel@jcu.edu.au.

Please complete a separate form for each proposed presentation.

Workshops should run for approximately 50 minutes and be suitable for a maximum of 40 people.

Workshop presenters will be exempt from paying conference fees.
