Monitoring Snakeweed

Monitoring control of snakeweed by goats

snakeweed

The vet sciences school is running trials to monitor the ability of goats to control a unpalatable weed, snakeweed. Flights will occur weekly starting Monday, 14 March and will continue for 4 weeks. The flights will give an aerial view of the snakeweed coverage in a 0.7ha plot before, during the trial and after.

The image shows the students and staff describing the weeds to us prior to the flights.

These flights will occur at altitudes <50ft agl on JCU campus (behind vet sciences).
