The audio visual equipment is on

The Lab area consists of three rooms: Lab 1, Lab 2/Control Room and Lab 3. Upon entering Lab 2/Control Room, Lab 1 is to the left and Lab 3 to the right.

The AV systems is designed to independently control the projectors in Lab 1, Lab 2/Control Room and Lab 3, showing the same or different media sources.

The system can show laptops, DVD, VHS video tapes, microscopes (1 or 2) and an external analog device with RCA connectors on the projector screens in the labs.

Laptops are provided in Lab 1 and Lab 3 and are connected to the AV system by a VGA cable.

Laptops can also be connected in the Lab 2/Control room:

  1. At the wall plate on the right hand side of the AV Rack
  2. At the wall plate to the left of the projector screen

To show media on the projector screen in Lab 1:

Touch the Lab 1 tab and a media button - the following media choices are available:

  • Laptop Lab 1 or Control RM
  • Laptop Lab 2
  • Laptop Lab 3
  • Video
  • DVD Player
  • Auxiliary
  • Camera1 (microscope)
  • Camera2 (microscope)

To Preview media in the Control Room:

A preview monitor is located in the Control Room next to the AV equipment rack - to preview a media source, touch the Preview tab and select from the following options:

  • Video
  • DVD Player
  • Auxiliary
  • Camera1 (microscope)
  • Camera2 (microscope)

This is particularly useful when projecting the microscope images. as it gives the lecturer an opportunity to fine tune/focus the microscope prior to showing the image on the projector screen.
