There are many external scholarships made available by government departments, business and industry groups that you may be eligible to apply for.

RSL Queensland - Ex-Defence Scholarships
Open to: Ex-serving Defence members. Applicants are to meet eligibility criteria, including proof of service and the ability to demonstrate hardship or vulnerability due to their own or their family member's service.
Value: Up to $4,000 a year for up to three years
Opening date: Open now
Closing date: Open until filled, or until the 2021 scholarship round opens

RSL Queensland - Partner Scholarships
Open to: Spouses or de facto partners of current or former Defence members. Applicants are to meet eligibility criteria, including proof of service and the ability to demonstrate hardship or vulnerability due to their own or their family member's service.
Value: Up to $4,000 a year for up to three years

Closing date: Open until filled, or until the 2021 scholarship round opens

Commonwealth Scholarships Program for Young Australians
Open to: Students aged 15 to 24 years; or recently exited from the Australian Defence Force (no age restriction); and not in full-time work or school at the time of applying; and living in one of the 10 nominated regional areas, and have applied or intend to apply for an eligible Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification at the Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level, and studying a course which leads to an eligible occupation.  
Value: Up to $13,000

SUT Perth Branch Scholarships (Chris Lawlor Scholarship)
Open to: Full time students entering the last two years of their undergraduate course in 2020; or undertaking a postgraduate course in 2020. Their studies should embrace relevant areas of marine science; underwater technology or offshore engineering.
Value: $7,500
Opening date: 1 July 2020
Closing date: 12 August 2020

SeekVisa Scholarship 2020
Open to: domestic and international students, current and future, of all nationalities, that wish to study full time in their discipline in Australia including: Certificate 3 and 4, Diploma and Advanced Diploma Courses, Undergraduate, Postgraduate (Coursework or Research),Graduate Diploma Courses.
Value: $5,000

Dr Timothy Steel Medicine Scholarship
Open to: Australian citizens or permanent residents enrolled full-time in an accredited Australian Tertiary Education Institution and studying to be a doctor or a nurse.
Value: $4,000

Choosi Futures Grant Program
Open to: Australian citizens or permanent residents over the age of 18. Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited Australian Education Institution and be studying for a certificate, diploma, degree, or traineeship in any of the following areas: Eligibility criteria

Real Futures Grant
