Pre-requisites

Candidates will normally be required to have an overall grade point average of 5.0 (i.e. credit average) across their undergraduate degree and/or a grade point average of 5.0 in the third year of their undergraduate degree, with credits or better in specific discipline areas.  A minimum of a pass grade in a basic statistics subject is also required.

Candidates must hold a current First Aid Certificate before undertaking professional or clinical placements. Candidates are responsible for any costs associated with obtaining this certificate.

Some professional/clinical placement agencies may require that candidates hold an advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate before undertaking a professional or clinical placement. Candidates are responsible for any costs associated with obtaining this certificate.

Advanced Standing

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures.

Maximum allowed

48 credit points

Currency

Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.

Expiry

Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 10 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed the course of study prescribed for the degree.

Other restrictions

A maximum of 18 credit points of advanced standing may be granted at level 3 or 4.
