Admission Requirements
Pre-requisites | Candidates may apply to enter the social work honours program after successful completion of 72 credit points at levels 1, 2 and 3 in the pass degree; and Having gained at least a credit grade in four level 2 or level 3 social work subjects; and Having obtained at least a distinction grade in at least two level 2 or level 3 social work subjects. |

Accreditation requirements | In accordance with the requirements of the Supreme Court (Admission) Rules 2004 (QLD), students who intend, at any time, to seek admission as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland must include as subjects within their degree: LA4022:03 Civil Procedure LA4038:03 Legal Ethics and Trust Accounting Students seeking admission to practice are strongly advised to include the following level 4 subjects: LA4007:03 Succession LA4019:03 Conveyancing and Drafting LA4032:03 Family Law Townsville students seeking admission to practice are also encouraged to include LA4014:03 Clinical Legal Studies. |

Supplementary exam for final subject | A candidate who fails the final law subject towards the degree or towards admission as a barrister or solicitor and has gained 40% or more of the marks for that subject, may be granted a supplementary examination in that subject. |
Advanced Standing
Eligibility | Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures. |
Maximum allowed | 99 credit points |
Currency | Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course. |
Expiry | Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 10 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed this course. |
Other restrictions | The Australian Association of Social Workers does not permit advanced standing to be given for field education undertaken in non-social work programs. |
