Entry requirements for this course are consistent with the Pathways to Qualifications in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Guidelines for Graduate certificates.

Completion of an appropriate undergraduate degree, equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree, or graduate diploma from this or another university; or

Other qualifications or practical experienced recognised by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Law, Business and the Creative Arts as equivalent to the above.

Minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements

Students of non English speaking backgrounds must have an adequate English language capacity assessed under the Australian International English Language Testing System.  An IELTS score of 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5 is required (Band 1 at JCU).  Students scoring below this may be offered up to six months intensive language training prior to admission to the course.

Supplementary exam for final subject

A candidate who has failed the final subject towards the degree and who gained 40% or more of the marks for that subject, may be granted a supplementary examination in that subject.

Advanced Standing

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures.

Currency

Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 4 years prior to the commencement of this course.

Expiry

Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 6 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed the course of study prescribed for the degree.

Other restrictions

Advanced standing will not be granted for work experience or undergraduate studies.
