Completion of an appropriate undergraduate degree, equivalent to an Australian bachelor or diploma, from this or another university; or

Other qualifications recognised by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Law, Business and the Creative Arts as equivalent to the above; or

Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Accounting from this university.

Supplementary exam for final subject

A candidate who has failed the final subject towards the degree and who gained 40% or more of the marks for that subject, may be granted a supplementary examination in that subject.

Advanced Standing

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures.

Currency

Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 6 years prior to the commencement of this course.

Expiry

Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 10 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed this course.

Other restrictions

Candidates who have been granted advanced standing for the Graduate Certificate of Accounting shall be required to surrender that award prior to graduating with the Graduate Diploma.

No advanced standing will be granted for work experience or undergraduate study.

Candidates who exit the course prior to completion, and who have completed the required number of credit points and appropriate subjects, may be eligible for the award of Graduate Certificate of Accounting.

Course articulation

Candidates who complete the Graduate Diploma of Accounting are eligible for entry to the Master of Professional Accounting, and may be granted advanced standing for all subjects completed under the Graduate Diploma.
