Pre-requisites

A person may enrol for the Master of Forensic Mental Health if that person:

  • has qualified for an appropriate Bachelor degree at this or another University in a discipline deemed suitable by the Head of the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Nutrition; or

  • has qualified in this University for the Graduate Diploma of Forensic Mental Health; or

  • has alternative qualifications approved by the faculty on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Nutrition.

Advanced Standing

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures.

Currency

Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course

Expiry

Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 15 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed this course

Other restrictions

A maximum of 6 credit points of advanced standing may be granted for previous studies, provided those subjects have not been credited towards any other award, either at this or any other University.

A maximum of 12 credit points of advanced standing may be granted for recognition of prior learning
