Course prerequisites

Completion of Bachelor of Education or a three-year Diploma of Teaching that includes a Pass in professional experience from this university; or

Completion of a Bachelor of Education or a Diploma of Teaching or Bachelor of Teaching or an equivalent qualification from another approved institution of higher education; or

Other qualifications recognised by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences as equivalent to the above.

Entry requirements for this course are consistent with the Pathways to Qualifications in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Guidelines for Bachelor degrees

Minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements

IELTS: International Applicants and applicants with English as a second language must provide evidence of English languages competence achieving an overall band score of 7.0 and no less than 7.0 in each sub band. The cost of the testing will be met by the applicant. English test results must be no more than two years old.

Experienced teachers who do not meet the above requirements may be permitted by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor to be admitted to the course and be required to complete such subjects and other work as may be prescribed in addition to completing the requirements specified below.

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures.

Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.

Expiry

Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 13 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed this course.
