2014 Study Period and Census Dates

Major 2014 study periods for JCU campuses are numbered from Study Period 1 through Study Period 11. There are also a number of additional study periods available only to specific teaching locations or disciplines.

Definitions

Study Period (SP)

The period of time in which a subject is undertaken. Each study period has a designated start and end date, census date, last date by which students can add or substitute subjects without prior approval of subject coordinator, date for withdrawal without academic penalty, and date for release of subject results. In exceptional circumstances, the start and end date of a study period may vary for an individual subject.

Study Period Start Date

This is the first official day of the study period.

Last Date to Enrol Online

This is the last date that you can add or delete a subject from your study plan without first obtaining approval from the Course Coordinator or Academic Adviser.

Study Period Census Date

The date on which a student’s enrolment in a subject is taken to be finalised. This is the last date that students can withdraw without incurring financial penalty.

Last Date to Withdraw

This is the last date that students can withdraw from a subject without incurring academic penalty.

Study Period End Date

This is the last official day of the study period.

Results Publication

This is the date that results will be published for subjects taught in this study period.
