Admission Requirements
Course pre-requisites | There are two Entry Pathways to the Graduate Certificate. Students may only be admitted via one of these Pathways, conditional upon eligibility. The Graduate Certificate in Australian Rural Leadership may only be completed once by eligible students via one or other of these Pathways:
Completion of an undergraduate course at this or another University OR equivalent professional/life experience; as demonstrated by enrolment in, and satisfactory completion of modules 1-3 of the Australian Rural Leadership Program.
Prior satisfactory completion of ARLP modules 1-6 and graduation from the Australian Rural Leadership Program. |
Minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements | Students of non English speaking backgrounds must have an adequate English language capacity assessed under the Australian International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The IELTS score required for admission to this course can be found in Schedule I of the JCU Admissions policy. |
Additional entry requirements | Interview (by invitation – conducted by Australian Rural Leadership Foundation). |

Advanced Standing
Eligibility | Entry Pathway 1 Candidates are granted advanced standing towards the Graduate Certificate of Australian Rural Leadership for the first half of the ARLP (modules 1-3) only in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy and associated procedures. Entry Pathway 2 Candidates are granted advanced standing towards the Graduate Certificate of Australian Rural Leadership for completion of all ARLP modules, and graduation from that program, only in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy and associated procedures. |
