Minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements

Students of non-English speaking backgrounds must have an adequate English language capacity assessed under the Australian International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The IELTS score required for admission to this course can be found in Schedule I of the JCU Admissions policy.

In the context of a JCU graduate on successful completion of the Diploma of Information Technology graduates will possess:

• Demonstrate knowledge in one or more fields for skilled/paraprofessional work in business related professions

• Analyse industry standard contexts for decision making

Skills:

• Analyse data & resources from a range of sources

• Design approaches to address IT related  issues

• Transmit information clearly and fluently, in written form appropriate for their audience

• Demonstrate effective oral presentation skills for relevant audiences

• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively

Application:

• Apply technical skills, including numeracy, in a range of situations

• Demonstrate an awareness of ethical and social responsibility in IT settings

• Identify learning opportunities and self-improvements
