Accreditation requirements

Graduates of this course who wish to become fully registered as psychologists, must complete two years of supervised practice in the field or an accredited masters degree.

Maximum allowed Pass Conceded (PC) grade

3 credit points for Arts, Education and Social Science subjects.

Supplementary exam for final subject

A candidate who has failed the final business subject towards the degree and who gained 40% or more of the marks for that subject, may be granted a supplementary examination in that subject unless accreditation requirements for that subject specify different criteria which are to apply.

Advanced Standing

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures.

Maximum allowed

80 credit points in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy.

Currency

Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.

Expiry

Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 20 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed the course of study prescribed for the degree.

Honours availability

Honours is available in-course for Psychology and as an additional year of study for Business.

Eligibility

Psychology Honours

Entry to Honours is by invitation of the Head of School if that candidate has obtained a minimum of 96 credit points by successful completion of the level 1, 2 and 3 subjects prescribed in Bachelor of Business-Bachelor of Psychology; and provided that the candidate has obtained a minimum of a Credit average (65%) across PY2103, PY2107 and a minimum Distinction average (75%) across 15 credit points of level 3 PY subjects, including PY3101.

Business Honours

Normally a minimum average grade of Credit is required in the pass degree subjects relevant to the field in which Honours is to be taken.
