A candidate admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Business – Bachelor of Psychology at this university may be invited by the Head of the School to undertake the Honours degree if that candidate has

  • obtained a minimum of 96 credit points by successful completion of the level 1, 2 and 3 subjects prescribed in Bachelor of Business-Bachelor of Psychology

  • obtained a minimum of a Credit average (65%) across PY2103, PY2107 and a minimum Distinction average (75%) across 15 credit points of level 3 PY subjects, including PY3101

Graduates of this course who wish to become fully registered as psychologists, must complete either two years of supervised practice in the field or an accredited masters degree.

Supplementary exam for final subject

A candidate who has failed the final subject towards the award and who gained 40% or more of the marks for that subject, may be granted a supplementary examination in that subject. However if that subject is required for accreditation, then the criteria specified by that accreditation will apply.

Advanced Standing

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy associated procedures.

Maximum allowed

80 credit points in accordance with the Advanced Standing for Previous Studies and Recognised Prior Learning policy.

Currency

Advanced standing will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.

Expiry

Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 20 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the candidate has not completed the course of study prescribed for the degree.
