Graduates of this course, who wish to become fully registered as psychologists, must complete an accredited fourth year course (e.g. BPsychSc(Hons) or GDipPsych) and either an internship program or further postgraduate training followed by supervised practice in the field.

Course pre-requisites	Completion of an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification in any field other than Psychology at this or another University.
Minimum English language proficiency requirements	Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 1– Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy.

Course learning outcomes	On successful completion of the Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Bridging), graduates will be able to: Integrate and apply a coherent body of knowledge and skills in major theoretical perspectives, and philosophical and historical developments in core areas of psychology. Critically review, evaluate and apply evidence bases and basic ethics and research methods in psychology including research design, data analysis and interpretation to solve research questions related to the challenges of the diverse populations in regional, national and international communities. Demonstrate high level judgement, responsibility and accountability for ones own learning and ethical practice in collaboration with others. Demonstrate advanced English language, technological and numeracy skills to generate, interpret, and communicate knowledge, data, arguments and findings appropriate for a variety of audiences. Work collaboratively and independently to design, evaluate and disseminate information and initiatives to promote and optimize mental health, resilience and well being in culturally diverse and geographically dispersed contexts.
