About the program

The 16-week online program offers a foundational learning opportunity for professionals seeking to build capabilities in health and social care commissioning. It develops core competencies across all domains of the commissioning cycle and provides practical opportunities to apply these skills in real-world contexts. Using a Community of Practice (CoP) approach, the program was co-designed by James Cook University and Hunter New England Central Coast PHN on behalf of the PHN National Cooperative, leveraging expertise from PHNs across multiple states and jurisdictions—reflecting the philosophy ‘by PHNs, for PHNs’. Participants will achieve six key learning outcomes through flexible, self-paced online activities.

The program will be offered four times in 2026 subject to meeting the minimum enrolment number for each cohort.
