The future is looking bright for JCU’s Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering graduates, with all of those finishing in 2017 finding jobs related to their discipline, and demand from employers outstripping supply.

Across all engineering disciplines, JCU graduates are in high demand, with more than 90 per cent of those graduating this week finding a job or moving to postgraduate education.

Daniel Christie, Head of Engineering, says that in some disciplines, the demand for 2017 JCU Engineering graduates has exceeded the available supply.

“The demand for engineering graduates has always been strong,” he said. “Improvements in both the national and regional economies is driving a higher demand for graduate engineers, which is likely to continue into the foreseeable future.

“JCU Engineering has always prided itself on producing job-ready engineering graduates who are truly valued by industry.”

73 students are graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering from JCU today, with majors including Civil, Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
