Back to where it all began for JCU business and podcast partners

Hugely popular podcasters and business partners Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott will return to their old stomping grounds at James Cook University for a special event on Friday, July 4.

With over 640K combined Instagram followers across their personal accounts and brands (Lucy and NikkiHappy Hour PodcastJGR & STN and JACKSON WEST), they’ve built loyal followings through unfiltered storytelling and savvy entrepreneurship.

The proud JCU alumni and co-hosts of the Happy Hour Podcast, co-founders of hit fashion label JGR &STN, and radio stars will give a raw, real and seriously fun chat about growing up in rural towns, launching careers, and building podcasts, brands and businesses from scratch.at ‘JCU Presents: Lucy and Nikki go back to Uni’.

“We’re coming back to the motherland and the place we met,” the talented duo said.

“We’re so excited to be hosting an event with James Cook University - the very place we met and started our career as marketing girlies. Come down for an evening with us to chat growing up in North Queensland, careers, life and just anything you guys want to talk about.

“We came to JCU not knowing each other but ended up building several businesses together. Ten years ago, we never could’ve guessed this would be our life.”

Nikki graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Marketing, and Lucy with a dual Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing and Journalism, with the pair working as Red Bull student marketeers during their uni years

They are proud JCU success stories of rural girls making a name for themselves, with Nikki growing up in Mount Isa and Lucy in Mission Beach.

There will also be pre and post events on the JCU Lawns featuring a live DJ, food truck, the Red Bull Team and NQ Licenced Event Bar.
