Tropical Cyclone Koji - campus updates

TC Koji has crossed the coast between Ayr and Bowen. Heavy rainfall is continuing between Ayr and Mackay with localised flooding and some power outages reported.

Townsville

  • The Bebegu Yumba Campus will be OPEN tomorrow, Monday 12 January and all teaching and examination activities will proceed as scheduled.
  • Access to general access computer laboratories and the 24 hour Library space will be open from 10am today. You will need your JCU ID card to access these areas.
  • Anyone travelling to campus should drive to conditions, with caution for water, debris and potholes.

Ayr to Mackay

  • Students and staff in areas impacted by TC Koji are advised to prioritise personal safety and to monitor advice from Local Disaster Management Groups and emergency services before leaving shelter.

  • Students who are unable to attend classes or examinations on Monday due to cyclone impacts will receive further advice and appropriate consideration, recognising ongoing weather, access and power disruptions.
