This course aligns with the subjects, skills and experience developed in Year 1 of the Bachelor of Information Technology at JCU. Successful completion of the Diploma of Information Technology [Pathway] allows you to transition into Year 2 of a Bachelor of Information Technology.
Graduates will also meet the entry requirements of JCU Bachelor’s degrees within other study areas. Whether you pursue further study or enter the workplace, you will possess employable skills, foundational knowledge and an understanding of key information technology strategies relevant to the industry.
Upon completion of the Diploma of Information Technology [Pathway], you will receive credit towards a Bachelor’s degree, meaning you can finish your degree sooner.

The Diploma of Information Technology [Pathway] is a pathway option into JCU if you need further qualifications to meet the academic entry requirements of your preferred undergraduate course. It also provides an example of what university study will be like prior to enrolling in a full degree.
Some subjects completed as part of this diploma may be eligible for credit towards a subsequent JCU undergraduate degree. Alternatively, you may choose to use your qualification to gain an entry-level position in an IT or IT-related industry.

Course articulation | Students who are awarded the JCU Diploma of Information Technology are eligible for entry into the JCU Bachelor of Information Technology, provided they also meet the relevant English Language entry requirement for the degree. Applicants meeting the entry requirements for these JCU Bachelor programs will receive credit for all subjects successfully completed in this Diploma. Successful Diploma students may alternatively be granted credit for subjects successfully completed under this course towards any other Bachelor degree for which they satisfy the entry requirements. |

A Student Services and Amenities Fee is payable per subject up to a maximum amount per year.
Student Visa holders must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their Student Visa (except Norwegian, Swedish and Belgian citizens).
