Discover Lifestyle Medicine
Half of Australians live with a chronic physical or mental health condition. This is driving strong demand for lifestyle medicine and whole-person, whole-community care. The need spans primary care, hospitals, community programs, industry, not-for-profits, and government.
Lifestyle medicine is built on evidence-based practices. These include nutrition, fasting, movement, sleep, meditation, relaxation, breathwork, and reducing harmful substances. It also focuses on social connection, social prescribing, and connecting with nature. Behaviour change skills like health coaching, research, technology use, and care model innovation are key parts of the approach.
As the only university to offer postgraduate degrees in lifestyle medicine under a school of medicine, JCU is leading the way. We offer a range of opportunities in education, supervision, research and projects, delivered by experts in the field.
