Expand your career and enhance your employability by gaining expert skills in Information Technology (IT) and Business Administration. Learn from expert academics and work alongside industry experts to increase your IT and business expertise and hone your specialist management, leadership and innovation capabilities.
Information Technology
Develop expertise in multiple areas of Information Technology (IT) including computer programming, data analysis and multimedia. As you study the fundamentals of problem-solving and programming, the importance of data modelling, and design and development, you’ll be equipped to help your current or future workplace run smoothly and innovatively.
Put your knowledge and skills to the test as you work on a collaborative ICT project across two core subjects. Working together in teams, students will select a project from industry, the local community, or the university research community and use various approaches to IT project management to determine what makes for best practice and results. You will develop strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, gain experience in problem-solving for complex issues, learn how to enhance project outcomes, and take a practical research project from proposal to presentation. Your project could be in the area of marketing, web development, game development, or another that your team may choose.
Business Administration
JCU’s Master of Business Administration degree has a strong focus on applying and integrating sustainable economic, social and environmental business performance methods to new and existing business models. You will learn how to evaluate the context of a business or organisation and identify the appropriate performance method/s to enhance its performance or solve a key issue within the business’s framework. You will study a broad body of theoretical and technical knowledge and gain skills in critically analysing complex contemporary business issues and making effective decisions or recommendations for improvement.
This Master of Business Administration degree has subjects covering a broad range of topics and will equip you to work effectively in any field of business. You can also choose to undertake an applied research project that will challenge you to apply your knowledge and understanding directly to a work-based, real-world scenario using a suite of research methods. This research project provides extensive experience that will help prepare you for your future career as well as networking opportunities that will benefit your professional development.

JCU Master of Information Technology - Master of Business Administration graduates are highly skilled and well equipped to manage the challenges of the future in terms of business and technology.
The business knowledge and technical skills you gain throughout your degree will give you the flexibility to pursue a career in almost any industry. However, you will be especially equipped to work in interdisciplinary contexts that require a business and technology background.
Your advanced leadership skills and strong critical thinking abilities could see you pursue careers such as chief technology officer, programmer, network administrator, systems developer, software developer, systems analyst or program administrator.
Alternatively, you may want to work as a chief financial officer, operations manager, investment banker, financial adviser, market research analyst or management consultant.
JCU’s Master of Business Administration helps qualified professionals build further competence in their fields, enabling graduates to become Certified Professionals (CP) with the Australian Computer Society upon completion of the course.

Course fees are charged per year of full-time study. International course fees are reviewed annually and subject to change.
A Student Services and Amenities Fee is payable per subject up to a maximum amount per year.
Student Visa holders must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their Student Visa (except Norwegian, Swedish and Belgian citizens).
