Marketing Manager, Tom Collin, is back in the office this week after his first trip to Africa. Tom attended ICEF Africa in Cape Town, South Africa and represented the only Australian university in attendance. During this two and a half day event he met with over 30 prospective partners from the likes of South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana. 

From Cape Town, Tom travelled to Nairobi, Kenya where he had the incredible experience of going on Safari in the Masai Mara. He travelled with Regional Compliance Manager, Grace Mbugua, to visit a local Masai village to play football with the children and share some sweet treats from Australia. During their time in Kenya, the pair met with over 600 students and were hosted by 13 different partners. Tom also had the pleasure of meeting with the Kenya High Commission to Australia including the Secretary to the Minister of Education.

The last stop of the trip was Uganda where Tom met with 4 partners and over 50 potential students. He also attended Ugandan parliament where he had a private tour and met with the Speaker to discuss Ugandans at JCU Brisbane and potential partnerships.  

Tom expresses his gratitude to all who hosted him and is looking forward to building on his relationships with our esteemed partners and meeting with more of you during future visits.
