Cultural Peer Mentor Program

The cultural Peer Mentor Program at JCU Brisbane offers a welcoming and supportive environment to help new students begin their academic journey at the university. This program pairs incoming international students with experienced and friendly senior students know as Cultural Mentors, aiming to ease their transition to JCU Brisbane.

By enrolling as a Cultural Mentee, you will gain:

  • A smooth transition to university life, guided by an experience student mentor.
  • Access to all the essential information necessary to initiate your academic journey at JCUB and settle into Brisbane.
  • Regular one-on-one sessions with your mentor to enhance your spoken English skills.
  • A friendly and inviting environment to meet and engage with fellow international students, whether they hail from the same country or diverse nations, through both online and on-campus social gatherings.

The process is simple, for newly arrived students, you just need to fill in an application form with your personal details and we will match you up with a suitable mentor! Once we have received your request, we will start the matching process. You will be contacted by the student counsellor or your mentor via email.
