JCUB has recently established a mutual partnership agreement with Moggill State School (MSS) for our Master of Education / Master of Business Administration (MEd / MBA) students.

Participants had the opportunity to attend and observe a range of classes and examine the teaching and learning practices utilised at MSS. The initiative was born from JCUB’s active class engagement and feedback from the students who wanted the chance to test their new-found educational leadership skills in an authentic education environment.

MSS Principal, Nathan Freeman, was more than willing to open his schools’ doors to the next wave of future educators. He spoke about how his staff are proud of the work they do and that they were excited to share it with others. He was impressed with the JCUB MEd / MBA students’ willingness to get involved and excited that upon graduation, they will be bringing their managerial and administrative skills to the education industry.

The opportunity allowed our students to gain a better understanding of the Australian educational system, learn new teaching pedagogy and practices that they can use and share moving forward. JCUB MEd / MBA students Chaithanya and Ozzie both volunteered to take part in the MSS partnership to advance their learning. Chaithanya initially chose the MEd / MBA course as it encompassed skills like people management, leadership tactics and accounting that she wanted to improve and grow. She has found that no matter the industry, the administration and managerial skills she now has will be beneficial. With a background in education, Ozzie was looking for something extra. She was of the belief that in the present day, schools are businesses and education and administrative skills now go hand in hand. She’s found that JCUB’s MEd / MBA course has given her the chance to become skilled in all areas of education.
