Starting university can be nerve-wracking for any new student, but it can also be a stressful time for their parents and partners as well.

Orientation Week (or O Week) is a university-wide celebration held from Monday 18 February to Friday 22 February on the Cairns and Townsville campuses.

James Cook University is holding a Parents and Partners information session on its Townsville campus tomorrow (16 February) as part of the preparations for the new academic year, to help them understand what to expect.

JCU staff will provide information on the typical first year experience, what students need to do to succeed, and how parents and partners can help to support new students as they adjust to university life.

Another highlight of O Week will be an exhibition showcasing the talent of JCU’s Bachelor of New Media Arts students.

The Best of Student Show features the talents of 34 Bachelor of New Media Arts students.
