Whether you’re returning to study after a gap year or are already in the workplace and keen to retrain for a promotion or career change, a James Cook University information session may have some answers.

JCU will hold a Re-invent Your Career lunchtime information session on Tuesday, January 14 in Townsville.

JCU Marketing Co-ordinator Michelle Ballard said the event aimed to show people it is never too late to go to university.

“If you have been thinking about a change, let us help you achieve that re-invention,” she said.

“We understand that the decision to return to study can raise many questions, so this is your chance to ask for career advice and tips on changing career direction.”

Ms Ballard said those attending could find out what JCU could offer them.

“It’s never too late to reinvent your career; a degree can give you the confidence to move into a new professional area and fulfil your potential,” she said.

“A university education gives you confidence in your abilities, inspires new futures and opens your mind to new ways of thinking.

“Undertaking further study is a good way to enhance your knowledge and skills, and can indicate to employers your commitment to ongoing career development.”

Between its campuses, JCU offers a wide range of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including 193 on-campus courses in Townsville, 136 in Cairns and 28 external.

Drop in to the Holiday Inn (in Flinders Square), anytime between 11.30am and 2pm and speak to JCU experts about study for a career change.

Meet faculty staff, and network with current students who will be on hand to talk about their experiences studying at JCU. Complimentary lunch will be provided and attendance is free.
