JCU’s student boost

JCU has recorded a boost in the number of people choosing the University as their first preference for study in second semester, nearly triple the sector average in Queensland.

JCU has recorded a boost in the number of people choosing the University as their first preference for study in second semester, nearly triple the sector average in Queensland.

First preference applications for Semester Two have increased 12.2% compared to the same time last year.

On average, first preference applications at universities across Queensland have risen by an average of 4.4%.

First preference applications at JCU’s Townsville campus are up 11%.

Cairns has experienced a 16% increase, while Mackay is up 36%.

All up, JCU received 1085 first preference applications for second semester.

There’s been strong growth in applications for the Diploma of Higher Education, and Bachelor Degrees in Nursing, Education, Business and Law.
