New weekly uni offers being snapped up

Prospective students are snapping up places at James Cook University, with strong demand for JCU courses in the first week of a new offer process.

The first acceptance was recorded just seven minutes after the release of offers!

Changes to how the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) operates has meant universities are now able to offer earlier and more often than in the past.

JCU usually has its first offer round in late October, however, for study in Teaching Period 1, 2017 the first offer round was made on August 25.

Under the new process, JCU will make weekly offers until the major offer round in January.

JCU made 74 offers in last week’s QTAC offer round for a selection of courses across Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and for external study. Courses include Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Nursing and more.

As of yesterday, 68 of those had been accepted.

The next offer round will be made this Friday, September 2 and QTAC will officially notify the successful applicants at midday.

JCU offer details are also being emailed to successful applicants and the Student Enquiries team has started contacting new students to provide personalised support to students.
