Townsville campuses re-open Wednesday 29th March

Severe tropical cyclone Debbie is now a category 3 cyclone forecast to move slowly southwest over the next 12 to 18 hours before curving to a more southerly track, dissipating to a tropical low by tomorrow morning. Destructive winds are no longer expected in Townsville, Charters Towers, Mackay or Sarina, however gale force winds may still occur overnight.

Wednesday 29 March
CAIRNS, TOWNSVILLE and MT ISA REGIONS OPEN
All operations are expected to continue as normal on all campus locations including the Townsville campus (Douglas) and Townsville City campus.
AYR, PROSERPINE and MACKAY REGIONSLIMITED OPERATIONS
All university sites will have limited operations tomorrow due to power outages and road access. Damage assessments to infrastructure will be carried out. Please monitor the radio for Local Disaster Management Group and/or emergency services advice regarding travel throughout the area.
