Joint statement on Enterprise Agreement negotiations from JCU, NTEU, Together Union, United Voice and ETU

James Cook University and Unions have confirmed that they would support putting the new Enterprise Agreement, as amended, that will cover all staff at James Cook University, to a vote of staff.

The proposed Enterprise Agreement will provide certainty for staff on their terms and conditions over the life of this agreement through until 30 June 2021. Details of the new Agreement will be provided to staff this week.

The University will now move to a vote as soon as possible with Union support, so that the proposed EA can be finalised and, if approved by a majority of staff, provide an administrative pay increase, reflecting a commitment to backdate the first pay increase to 30 September 2017, in time for Christmas.

The University will provide further information about the voting process during this week.

We encourage you to read the documents that will be provided this week and ask any questions that you may have.

We thank you for your patience during these negotiations and encourage you to participate in a vote of the Enterprise Agreement.
