PLEASE NOTE: We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the Online Verification Tool. Can you please email exams.staff@jcu.edu.au with your verification request and we will assist you.

Welcome to James Cook University's Graduate Online Award Verification Service. This service can be used to verify qualifications awarded to JCU graduates who commenced their course from 2011.

Please note it can take up to 20 business days for a response to your verification request. This online service will only check academic qualifications where University Council has conferred the completed course.

Note: online data is not currently available for the following groups*:

  • Students who have met program requirements, but are yet to graduate
  • Pre-2011 graduates
  • A document is required to be Apostilled

*Submit a request to verify qualifications for graduates who do not appear in the database, or if you require a document to be apostilled to exams.staff@jcu.edu.au. The request must include the following information:

  • Student's full name
  • Date of birth
  • Award name
  • Year of conferral

  • James Cook University takes reasonable efforts to ensure that the information provided by this Service is correct but takes no responsibility for accuracy or completeness.
  • James Cook University will not release personal information pertaining to a graduate that is required to undertake a search via this Service. Users of this Service must obtain the required personal information directly from the graduate.
  • By using this Service you will be providing James Cook University with personal information (your full name and email address). JCU will use the personal information you provide to ensure that you are using this Service for bona fide reasons. Your personal information will be stored in accordance with JCU's Privacy Policy and will not be released to the public.
  • Your rights to access and amend your personal information are set out in the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) which also places obligations on James Cook University as to how we handle your personal information.
  • Please note it can take up to 20 business days for a response to your verification request.

The reasons for this may include:

  • The graduate has not yet attended a graduation ceremony for their completed course(s)
  • The date of birth or surname entered differs to our records, e.g. McDonald, not Mc Donald
  • The data requested pre-dates our current system.

In the above instances please submit your request via email to exams.staff@jcu.edu.au. The request must include the following information:

  • Student's full name
  • Date of birth
  • Award name
  • Year of conferral
