Rapid Assessment Unit

The Rapid Assessment Unit (RAU) is a continuing collaboration between James Cook University and the Queensland Government's Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (QDAF) established under a collaborative agreement executed in February 2004.
RAU homepage bannerThe Rapid Assessment Unit is focussed on innovative scientific research and development, and delivery of rapid, non-invasive technologies in application to quality and safety attributes for horticultural, agricultural and forestry products, and including processed foods and allied industries. Quality and safety evaluation of agricultural, food and bio-based products has become an increasingly important consideration in market / commercial viability and systems for such evaluations are now demanded by customers, including distributors and retailers.  High speed non-destructive testing and grading technologies are needed to provide product that is safe and of a consistent quality that meets market expectations.

The Rapid Assessment Unit can discuss your requirements to help identify and develop projects to meet your industry and market needs.
