Christopher Reid

Christopher A. R. Reid is a Lecturer and the Academic Advisor for the undergraduate degree within the discipline of Psychology at James Cook University (JCU). Christopher has conducted various preclinical studies, employing rodent neurological disease models of multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder. As Head of the Psychological Neuroenergetics Lab, Christopher’s primary research interest surrounds brain energetics in human behaviour and mental processing; with a particular focus on the potential of natural-based bioactive substances such as fungi in improving cognitive and behavioural health. Within the Clinical Psychedelic Research Lab, Christopher is interested in the neuromechanistic attributes of the bioactive components of psychedelics in health and disease.
