Learn contemporary approaches to leadership within education and managerial environments that are applicable across a broad range of workplaces and industries. JCU’s Master of Education – Master of Business Administration is designed for educators who want professional development that includes business administration capabilities.
You will complete nine core subjects that cover educational leadership, people management, marketing and finance and an individual research project. Then, choose seven elective subjects to suit your professional interests. You can also participate in an internship either within the university or externally with a professional organisation.
Become a leader with JCU’s Master of Education - Master of Business Administration. This course will appeal to students looking for a career in management with an emphasis on education and learning paradigms.

Course pre-requisites | Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree or Completion of an AQF level 8 honours degree in any discipline from this or another university; or Completion of an AQF level 8 Graduate Certificate in a cognate* discipline from this or another university; or An AQF level 8 Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in a non cognate discipline with a minimum 4 years experience working in education management, leadership or supervisory position;or Other qualifications or practical experience recognised by the Dean, College of Arts, Society and Education as equivalent to the above. *Cognate disciplines: Business, Management, Human Resource Management, Education, Curriculum studies Entry requirements for this course are consistent with the Pathways to Qualifications in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF Level 9) Guidelines for Masters degrees. |
Minimum English language proficiency requirements | Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 2 – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy or have successfully completed an AQF level 8 qualification from James Cook University within the previous two years. |
