Maria de los Angeles

Maria is a PhD student at James Cook University, specializing in marine biology, with a Master’s in Business Administration. She brings over eight years of experience in shrimp production across all stages of aquaculture. Her expertise spans molecular biology, microbiology, histology, breeding, feeding, growth, and health programs, tailored to industry requirements. Maria has also contributed to research at Ecuador’s National Center for Aquaculture and Marine Research, focusing on aquatic animal health. As part of the ITRH team, she is researching final oocyte maturation and ovulation in barramundi to enhance breeding practices and contribute to the growth of Australia’s aquaculture industry
