Sharmaine Lee

Sharmaine Patricia Lee is a Master of Marine Biology candidate at James Cook University and part of the ITRH-Hub. Her research focuses on improving pearl quality in Pinctada maxima through the application of quantitative trait data to enhance selective breeding for productivity and sustainability.

She brings diverse experience across aquaculture and marine systems, including roles as a Public Aquarium Specialist at S.E.A. Aquarium, Coral Aquarist, and researcher at the Tropical Marine Science Institute in Singapore, with work spanning tropical spiny lobster and pearl oyster aquaculture.
