Make the most of your university experience and stay on-campus with JCU Cairns student accommodation. Experience JCU’s affordable, safe and supported accommodation, whether you are staying for a short block mode subject or for your whole degree.
Reap the benefits of living within walking distance to lectures, tutorials, libraries, peers and student support. Choose from two quality options for share accommodation Cairns. Each residence offers a range of living options to suit individual student needs.
John Grey Hall
John Grey Hall is JCU’s brand new, purpose-built on-campus residence that officially opened in 2018. The residence offers modern self-catered, apartment-style living. Relax and hang out with friends with a 42-metre long internal grass courtyard featuring shared BBQ facilities. JCU’s first-year student room guarantee ensures that all first-year students are guaranteed a place at John Grey Hall, giving you the best chance of university success. JCU also offers residential scholarships for residents who need to relocate to study at JCU Cairns.
Cairns Student Lodge
Cairns Student Lodge is located just across the highway and an eight-minute walk to the JCU Cairns campus. This fully-catered residence offers secure rooms or apartments, as well as a resort-style swimming pool, volleyball court and a fully-equipped share kitchen.
Both uni student accommodation Cairns residences provide academic and wellbeing support, as well as a variety of social and cultural activities. All rooms are furnished and offer a bed, desk, chair and Wi-Fi. Personalise your private space and feel at home.
JCU Cairns on campus accommodation is popular, so apply early to avoid missing out.
Both JCU’s Cairns student accommodation residences benefit from individual locks on bedrooms, 24/7 JCU security, nightly patrols and CCTV cameras throughout the buildings.
You will be welcomed by a trained and dedicated Residential Assistant (RA), who will help you find your feet in university and campus life. You will also receive ongoing support from your RA and Residential Life Manager throughout your Cairns student accommodation stay.
Build memories and make lifelong friends as you navigate your JCU university experience.
Share accommodation Cairns means there are always plenty of social and cultural activities planned to keep you busy. Meet students from all walks of life at orientation activities, movie nights, BBQs, international food nights and themed events, plus more.
Research has shown that students who move out of home to attend university and live in student housing in their first year of study are more successful than students who live in share houses. JCU’s Cairns on campus accommodation offers support, structure and location to resources.
Experience university with other like-minded students, who want to achieve academic success.
JCU’s uni student accommodation Cairns is situated in beautiful Far North Queensland. The Cairns campus is surrounded on three sides by rainforest-covered mountains, and is located near the northern beaches, only 15km north of the city centre. With warm, sunny weather almost all year around, Cairns is the perfect location to combine study with adventure and a relaxed, tropical lifestyle.
