Adjunct Professor Isabelle Skinner graduated from James Cook University in 1995 with a Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and has gone on to reach the pinnacle of her field. After holding academic positions at five universities across the country, including James Cook University, Isabelle was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the International Council of Nurses – the peak body representing over 20 million nurses worldwide.

During her time in academia, she contributed significantly as the Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery at University of Tasmania, the Associate Dean Research and Research Training and the Director of the Office of Learning and Teaching at Charles Darwin University. Professor Skinner’s research has focused on remote health and health services and she currently serves as Managing Director her own consultancy firm, founded in 2014.
