Connect external venue to JCU

  • James Cook University has some 130 TANDBERG/Cisco end-points on its network.
  • SIP is supported
  • Bandwidth is only limited by the maximum bandwidth capability of the required end-point.
  • H.239 (Duo-video) is supported by all end-points.

Our Codian MCU retired in 2020 - multi site conferences are hosted on Zoom.

JCU utilizes Pexip technology for this purpose.

Point -to-point connections to JCU Cisco/tandberg video conference end-points are only supported over IP.

Zoom, a virtual meeting room (VMR/soft codec) video conferencing system for communication and collaboration, was introduced in March 2018 and is available to all staff and students. External participants, who experience difficulties in connecting directly to JCU videoconference enabled rooms, are encouraged to make the connection using Zoom. Zoom meetings can be created from Outlook or directly from the Zoom client. The connection string format to Zoom from a Cisco endpoint  is ZoomID.passcode@zmau.us.
