RAINFOREST PLANT IDENTIFICATION Workshops 2025
Enrolments open 9am Thursday 17 July
Darwin, James Cook University-Cairns, and Cape Tribulation
The Australian Tropical Herbarium, the Wet Tropics Management Authority and the NT Government are pleased to present our annual Rainforest Plant Identification Workshops.
The rainforests of the Wet Tropics and the Top End are beautiful and incredibly diverse. But that very diversity can pose difficulties – how can we understand and manage these forests if we don’t know the species we’re looking at? Our workshops aims to teach participants the skills and knowledge needed to identify the rainforest flora using free online plant identification tools and hands-on experience.
The workshop is targeted at the interested layperson, and will be of interest to:
- school science teachers
- state and local government land managers and rangers
- anyone with an interest in Tropical Australia’s incredible biodiversity
