Peter Doyle Prize

History of the prize

Established in 2005, this prize recognises a final-year medical student in the James Cook University College of Medicine who is voted by their graduating class as the most deserving recipient.

The prize was originally supported through donations from the Townsville-Mackay Medicare Local and was subsequently maintained by Northern Australia Primary Health Limited. Since 2022, the prize has continued through the generous support of Mr Jack Maguire, ensuring the ongoing recognition of outstanding medical graduates.
