History of the prize
This prize was founded in 1992 with a capital donation from the Department of Nursing Sciences, Calvary Hospital Cairns; Cairns Base Hospital; Mater Misericordiae Hospital Mackay; Mt Isa Base Hospital; Mater Misercordiae Hospital Townsville and the Northern Regional Health Authority. It has been maintained by the Townsville District Health Service since 1996. The prize is awarded to the student who has completed the requirements of the Bachelor of Nursing Sciences and who is deemed to have achieved the best overall performance in the course.
