History of the prize
This prize was founded in 2025 and is maintained with donations from ACRRM.
The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) sets professional medical standards for training, assessment, certification and continuing professional development in the specialty of general practice. ACRRM is the only Specialist College in Australia dedicated to rural and remote medicine, and we play an important role in supporting junior doctors and medical students considering a career in rural medicine. ACRRM awards celebrate the remarkable individuals and teams who make outstanding contributions to the work of the College and to the health and wellbeing of rural, remote, and First Nations communities.

Prize Information
Awarded to the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery student enrolled in Year 6 who has achieved a Distinction (D) or High Distinction (HD) in the general practice component of the Year 5 assessment and completed a rural clinical placement during Year 5 or Year 6.
