History of the prize
QCoal Group is a leader in geological exploration and development in Queensland. This prize has been established by QCoal Group founder and Managing Director and former Principal Coal Geologist of Queensland Christopher Wallin, and supported by the QCoal Foundation. The prize recognises the strongest performing second year Geology student and acknowledges the critical importance of geologists to the future of Queensland’s mining sector.
