The prize was founded in 2004 by the Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers and is maintained with annual donations from them. The prize is Awarded to the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) student who achieves the highest overall result in the Mathematics Curriculum Strand of ED3210/ED3209: Senior Secondary Curriculum 1 and 2, and an outstanding third-year professional experience report.
