History of the prize

This prize was founded in 2004 and is maintained with donations from RANZCP, Queensland Branch. The prize was renamed in 2013 to recognise the contribution of Professor Basil James in the field of mental health. The prize is awarded to the student who achieves top marks in year 5 Mental Health Rotation (Clinical Placement) assessment.
