History of the prize

This prize was founded by the Family Law Practitioners’ Association of Queensland (FLPA) in memory of the late Susan Thompson, who, having graduated in law from Townsville, went on to work in Cairns, including tutoring on the Cairns Campus. She was highly regarded in the Cairns legal fraternity, not only for her family law work, but also for the mentoring and support that she offered to both students and new graduates. The prize is awarded to the Cairns student with the highest score studying LA4032: Family Law.
